TRIPLE YOUR IMPACT

Financial Aid Changes Lives

First generation students are those whose parents have not earned a bachelor’s degree or higher. Without the benefit of family members who experienced college themselves, first generation students navigate unfamiliar systems and overcome unique challenges while balancing personal responsibilities and high expectations. This is a journey of courage and determination.

Last year, 41% of PSC students were first-generation college students. According to the Florida College Access Network, first-generation college students are statistically more likely to pursue high-demand careers in healthcare, science, technology, engineering, and math; nearly half are non-traditional or low-income, and many are also the first of their siblings to attend college. First-generation students are using education to build their skills, provide stability for their families, and benefit our community.

The First Generation Matching Grant Scholarship has transformed the lives of thousands of first-generation students across Florida since 2007. This scholarship combines State funds with private donations to benefit students whose parents have not earned a baccalaureate degree.

You Can Help Support More Students Than Ever Before

This year, every $1 donated is matched with $2 by the State of Florida, tripling the impact! Our goal is to raise $31,088 by November 30th to maximize available matching funds. Once matched, this will provide $93,264 to PSC students who need the support and reassurance of a community that believes in them.

Will you help us raise $31,088 for scholarships for first-generation students? Once tripled by a match from the State, this could fund as many as 891 credit hours for PSC students!

Gifts can be made by mail via check payable to the “Pensacola State College Foundation” or on this page via credit card.
