On December 2nd, Jo-Ann and Michael Price joined other philanthropists to celebrate their third annual event.
In 2020, the Prices founded the Change Maker program with their contribution of $100,000 that was a challenge to others who could match their commitment to students with a gift of $10,000 or more.
This year, PSC expanded the program and received over $2.2 million in gifts to support scholarships, teaching chairs, academic programs, athletics, and the Fund for Excellence. Past support from these same donors has already resulted in $1,038,320 in scholarships awarded to 489 students.
“There are many here tonight who donate on a higher level,” said Jo-Ann Price. “But there are a lot of people in our community who make ten-, twenty-, or twenty-five-dollar donations that help fuel just as much change. It’s important that we realize the act of giving adds up.”
At the heart of every donation made during the year, was a desire to help make a difference in the life of a student. This priority united attendees from all backgrounds for a greater purpose.
PSC President, Dr. Ed Meadows, extended his gratitude for the work of the families, friends, foundations, and businesses that continue to invest in the College. “I want to thank the Change Makers who choose to leave a legacy written in the hearts of the students their gifts support. Tonight, we celebrate you.”
