Melissa Cole, Pensacola State College Foundation
For Mikayla, her role as Records Coordinator at Pensacola State College (PSC) places her in a community she deeply values. Since joining the College in April of last year, Mikayla has found herself continually inspired by the support and care she’s received from her coworkers.
“I’m passionate about the community at Pensacola State College,” she shared. “I love my coworkers and my entire team; the amount of care and support they’ve given me is wonderful. I’m grateful for all of the understanding and hardworking support staff at PSC, especially the records department.”
Transitioning from teaching into her role at PSC was a new chapter for Mikayla. She is filled with immense gratitude for her “first job out of the classroom.” Mikayla says she still has “moments where I sit back and think about how thankful I am for my position here.” That gratitude fuels her desire to give back to the institution that she has grown so fond of.
Mikayla chooses to pay it forward for PSC students. “I donate to PSC because of my gratitude for the community here,” she explained. “If I love being somewhere, then I will always try to support it. Working within the educational sphere, I find it is a perfect place to concentrate my efforts. I’m grateful that my contributions can help students in need.”
Mikayla also enjoys the perks of contributing to PSC, adding with a smile, “The events with free food are just too good to pass up.”
Through her work and generosity, Mikayla exemplifies the spirit of giving that strengthens the PSC community and provides essential support for students. By investing in PSC, she ensures that more students can benefit from the same opportunities that were afforded to her.
