More than $12,000 was raised at the Rotary Club of Navarre Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 12, thanks in part to a slate of sponsors that included Pensacola State College’s Marjan Mazza Business and Management Program.
Mazza, a member of the PSC Board of Governors, personally sponsored the PSC logo, featuring the banner for her program, on the event’s publications and signage.
About 300 people attended the fundraiser at the Navarre Conference Center. The fundraiser, which included a raffle and silent auction, was to support Navarre youth programs, including the Navarre High School Scholarship Program that awarded eight $1,000 scholarships in May 2019 and more than $100,000 in scholarships since 1995.
According to Dan Sulger of Rotary, 12 scholarships will be awarded from the proceeds of the event. They will be broken down into these groups:
Candidates with financial need who meet high standards with a focus on grades, volunteer efforts, etc.
Candidates who meet the above requirements plus will be attending a trade school.
Candidates that meet those same requirements who are part of the JROTC, chosen by the leadership of the JROTC.
Candidates that meet those same requirements who are part of the InterAct Club at Navarre High School.
The Marjan Mazza Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Business and Management includes seven areas of concentration: Graphic Design Management, Health Care Management, Human Resources Management, Law Enforcement Administration, Organizational Administration, Project Management, and Public Safety Management.
