In the spirit of gratitude, Pensacola State College’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence extends heartfelt thanks to Stacey Kostevicki, the esteemed chair of our advisory council. Stacey, the Executive Director of Gulf Coast Kid’s House since 2010, is a beacon of inspiration for her unwavering dedication to community service.
Stacey’s journey in philanthropy began during her undergraduate years at Florida State University, where a unique assignment—writing her own obituary—became a defining moment. Reflecting on that experience, she recalls the profound impact it had on her outlook. “It was a defining moment for me to know that whatever I did, I wanted to make sure that I left some kind of good impact,” she shares.
Driven by this revelation, Stacey ventured into volunteering, discovering the transformative power of nonprofit organizations. Her initial foray into fundraising at a grief-and-loss counseling center in Tallahassee ignited a passion for mission-driven work and a commitment to making a positive difference.
Over the years, Stacey’s career has been a testament to her dedication, ranging from promoting the arts to mobilizing communities against child poverty and hunger. In 2010, she assumed leadership at Gulf Coast Kid’s House, where she orchestrates the collaboration of professionals for the intervention, investigation, and prosecution of child abuse cases in Escambia County.
Stacey’s ethos of meaningful contribution extends beyond her professional role; in addition to her service through PSC’s Nonprofit Center, she actively volunteers with Florida’s network of children’s advocacy centers and Cordova Rotary. Her words resonate: “If it’s meaningful, you make the time.”
Pensacola State College’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence is profoundly thankful for Stacey Kostevicki—a remarkable advocate whose passion and commitment continue to inspire positive change in our community.
