Beginning in January of next year, Pensacola State College Foundation Board of Governors Vice President, Mike Morette, will begin his two-year term as President.
Mike is the current President of Morette Company, which has provided construction management, general contracting, design building, and development services to Pensacola for forty-five years.
Born and raised in Pensacola, Mike graduated with honors from the University of Florida M.E. Rinker School of Building Construction and then began his career in construction in South Florida. In 2005, he returned home to work alongside his father, Rick.
In 2009, Mike assumed the position of Morette Company President, following the loss of his father. Since then, Michael’s strong leadership skills, attention to detail and commitment to owner satisfaction and the community have upheld Rick’s ideals and Morette Company’s position as one of the premier providers of construction services in Northwest Florida.
This year, the Morette Company unveiled their new slogan “Give More, Be More” which further emphasizes the business philosophy instilled in him by his father.
Michael is an active member of the Pensacola community and sits on several local boards in addition to his service on the Pensacola State College Foundation Board of Governors. Mike serves on the Synovus Bank Board, the Baptist Health Care Foundation Board, UWF’s Building Construction Advisory Board, and Pathways for Change Advisory Board. He was a member of the 2008 Class of the Greater Pensacola Chamber’s Leadership Pensacola and was recognized as a Rising Star by the Independent News in 2009. Michael has also been included multiple times in InWeekly’s annual “Power List” of the top 100 most influential people in Pensacola.
During his time on the PSC Foundation Board of Governors, Mike has served on the event committee for the Day of Clays annual fundraiser, sponsored countless Foundation events, started scholarships to support PSC students, and served on multiple campaigns.
Once he is in office, Mike says he “looks forward to continuing the momentum” of the Foundation leaders that have come before him. “By leveraging the hard work of our previous leaders and maintaining the momentum gained through our recent capital campaign, I look forward to increasing the positive impacts that the Foundation has on our College, its students and faculty, and our community as a whole.”
