“I was blessed enough to obtain scholarships which enabled me to be able to attend and graduate, so I wanted a way to pay it forward for the next generation of students to fulfill their dreams.”
— Bre Smith, PSC Public Safety/Police Department Lead Dispatcher
Bre’s journey with the College began in 2014, she joined the PSC Public Safety team under the employment of Keegan and Kelly, later joining the College as a PSC employee in 2020.
In addition to her position, she chooses to volunteer with PSC. She helped support during the 2022 and 2023 Big Break events. As a volunteer, she always shows up with a smile and gladly accepts any duties or role in support of the College.
“I choose to volunteer because I know firsthand the strain of wanting to further my education,” Bre says. “I was blessed enough to obtain scholarships which enabled me to be able to attend and graduate, so I wanted a way to pay it forward for the next generation of students to fulfill their dreams.”
Those who have been fortunate enough to work alongside her attest to her friendly and helpful spirit. PSC Director of Foundation Scholarships, Mikenzie Francis, spoke to this. “Bre has helped with event setup, serving food, moving heavy tables, administering contests for participants, stocking coolers, greeting and directing guests, and everything in between. Not only has she been a great helping hand, but she is also a joy to work with!”
If her love for PSC wasn’t apparent enough in her service, Bre shared how much she values the community within the College’s network. “I love many things about PSC, but if I had to narrow it down, it would be the sense of comradery the faculty and staff have to ensure the goal of student success. It’s definitely what I would describe as an extended family.”
