Pensacola State College continues its inaugural “I am PSC” campaign to celebrate 75 years of academic achievement and community impact, running now through Dec. 5, 2024. This movement gives community members, faculty, staff, students and alumni the opportunity to support scholarships that uplift PSC students, and donors are well on their way of helping reach a campaign goal of raising $75,000 to open doors and empower students from diverse backgrounds and in a variety of fields to create a better future for themselves.

Campaign funds are focused on universal scholarships, and with a generous matching program, donations will go twice as far, as every dollar donated up to $25,000 will be matched, doubling the impact and helping even more students achieve their goals. No matter the amount, every donation empowers students like PSC Computer Programming alumnus and campaign donor Johnny Gazoo, who is currently pursuing another bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity at the College, remotely, while living in Panama City, Panama.

“PSC has played a key role in helping me develop the skills needed to work internationally. Through my business, Expat Techworks LLC, I collaborate with North American businesses and government organizations, and the education I received from PSC has been instrumental in creating these opportunities,” said Gazoo. “Students are equipped not just with knowledge but also with the tools to make meaningful impacts in their fields. The professors there want to see their students win, and they go over and beyond to ensure that this happens. PSC gave me a foundation that has supported me across multiple ventures, and I’ll always value the connections and experiences I’ve gained through the College.”

Every donor, like Johnny Gazoo, will be invited to enjoy the campaign’s grand celebration event on Dec. 5 at the Bear Jones Moore Reeves Center for Math and Advanced Technology, Floor 3 on the Pensacola Campus, regardless of gift level. At 4:30 p.m., doors will open to all donors to celebrate being a part of “I am PSC,” where complimentary light refreshments will be served by Molly McGuire School of Culinary Arts students. Those who give a campaign gift of $75 or more will receive a limited edition “I am PSC” sponsored T-shirt, as well.

Gazoo affirmed, “Giving back to PSC feels like a natural way to show gratitude for everything it has contributed to my career. I also love seeing the College and its staff continually invest in and support the local Pensacola community. My journey with PSC has been transformative, and it continues to be a place where I grow both personally and professionally.”

Community members who are ready to make a difference should visit IamPSC.org to contribute. Those interested in sponsoring the event can contact Laura Hill at (850) 484-1564 or at lhill@pensacolastate.edu to join in making the “I am PSC Campaign” a success.
