Pensacola State College is ranked in the top 6% of all colleges and top 4% of all public 4-year colleges in affordability by the US Department of Education for all four-year colleges in the country. However, funding for college can remain a challenge for many students. Donors help bridge this gap by supporting scholarships. In 2023, scholarship donors supported 969 students with 1,498 scholarship awards totaling more than $770,000!
Scholarship gifts can be designated to the First Generation Scholarship, Universal Scholarship, or any of the Foundation’s 315+ private scholarships. There is no minimum donation to support our existing scholarships! If you are unsure which scholarship to select, the First Generation Scholarship may be matched by the state, amplifying your positive impact and the Universal Scholarship supports students from diverse demographic backgrounds who are seeking education in a variety of fields. Your gift can be acknowledged in honor or in memory of a specific person.
With a minimum of $5,000 you can establish and name an annual scholarship. Annual scholarships can be made in memory or in honor of someone. Annual scholarships provide awards to current students without requiring endowed funds. Donors may choose awarding criteria to outline how funds will be used by which type of student the scholarship supports. In 2022, donors established two new annual scholarship funds! Endowment funds are invested and earnings perpetually fund the scholarship. Endowed scholarships are established with a single payment or through pledge payments made over as much as ten years to reach a minimum principal of $20,000. The earnings are used for scholarship awards. Endowed scholarships bear the name donors designate and can be made in honor or in memory of a specific person. Donors can dictate awarding guidelines that for how the earnings are used to benefit what types of students. In 2022, donors created fourteen new endowed scholarships!
