“We’re committed to making the communities here, and across Northwest Florida, even better and we know that’s going to take hard work, and good partnership.” — J.T. Young, Florida Power & Light Company Vice President of Customer Service and Sales
On Tuesday, November 15th members of Florida Power & Light Company, Pensacola State College, and local nonprofits celebrated the dedication of the Florida Power & Light Company Nonprofit Center Training Room.
The Nonprofit Center for Excellence and Philanthropy was established with a $150,000 investment from FPL in 2018. As this was also the first gift in the Foundation’s most recent capital campaign, it seemed only fitting that the room dedication coincides with the successful close of the campaign.
Since 2019, The Nonprofit Center, has proudly hosted over 37 educational trainings attended by 556 representatives from more than 91 nonprofits across Baldwin, Bay, Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Walton counties.
Florida Power & Light Corporate Communications Director, Becca Boles, voiced that she was “excited for the space” and adding that it is an invaluable and unique resource for local nonprofits.
Over the last 55 years, Florida Power and Light (formerly Gulf Power) has donated over $723,000 to PSC in support of students and programs.
