Aminat Jubril is from Lagos, Nigeria.  She came to PSC to play basketball and is the recipient of an athletic scholarship.  Her major is sports medicine/physical therapy.  “I’ve always loved medicine.  I love sports.  I wanted to do something that I could put those two together.”

Being an athlete and a science major is difficult.  “Trying to balance studying and practice is hard,” but Aminat manages to make time for Phi Theta Kappa.  “We participate in community service a lot as a basketball team.”

She wants to be a doctor, specifically a physical therapist, and, in 10 years, an orthopedic surgeon.  “I learned that I like bones.”

Aminat is grateful for the opportunity to do what she loves in a learning environment.  “Thank you for giving me the chance to play basketball and go to school.  School is most important, but being able to do both is wonderful.  I don’t know if they know how much help they have given, especially for parents who can’t afford to send a child to school.”
