Pensacola State College’s Visual Arts Department awarded ribbons, plaques and $23,590 in scholarships and prizes to students at the 51st Annual Art Student Honors Ceremony recently.
For the first time, the event also included Judges Choice Awards based on judging from outside the Visual Arts Department. Dreyden Wells, an artist and ceramics instructor at the University of West Florida, selected winning works in the 51st Annual Art Student Honors Exhibition.

Four Pensacola State College students have received $1,000 scholarships from the Cantonment Rotary Club.
Pensacola State College students in the General Education Development program will have more scholarship opportunities, thanks to a $1,000 gift honoring James “Jim” Glantz who taught GED classes from 2002 to 2011.
Deborah Glantz made the donation in memory of her late husband who was committed to his students and taught until a cancer diagnosis forced him to leave the classroom.

Pensacola State College is celebrating Black history and heritage with an annual scholarship event at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24 at the Jean and Paul Amos Studio, WSRE-TV Building 23, on the Pensacola campus.

Pensacola State’s Culinary Arts program received a $10,000 boost Wednesday from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff David Morgan.
Morgan made the donation to the Molly McGuire Culinary Arts Endowed Scholarship fund. Molly “McGuire” Martin, the matriarch of McGuire’s Irish Pub in Pensacola, died in August 2014.
