In March of this year, the Pensacola State College Board of Governors Strategic Planning Task Force began meeting to determine how the Pensacola State College Foundation could best achieve its mission in rapidly changing times. The Task Force was led by Mr. Trey Poirier, Vice President of the Board of Governors. Mr. Poirier was joined by other governors including Candice Carroll, Dick Dixon, and Chandra Smiley. They first looked back to accurately capture the organizational history and the donors and community leaders who were instrumental supporters of the College. The Paul Dean Higginbotham Memorial Endowed Scholarship was created in honor of Mr. Higginbotham’s love, dedication, and everything he gave for his children in pursuit of higher education.
Theresa Yoakum, Accounting Specialist, has been with Pensacola State College for more than 10 years! Before beginning her career at PSC, Theresa was a student at the College (PJC at the time); she and her daughter earned their associate degrees together at PSC! Theresa chooses to above and beyond her job duties by volunteering at College and Foundation events; her efforts were crucial to the success of Day of Clays on October 2nd. At the event, Theresa helped pick up breakfast, manage player and team check-in, serve lunch, and clean up.
